Tropic Marin Reef Snow 60 Grams

    In Stock

Product description The high level of biological activity prevalent in intact coral reefs means that high concentrations of biopolymer substances can be found there. Contact with nutrient particles and colonisation with specific bacteria lead to the formation of particles that have a heightened level of nutritional value and are even visible to the naked eye. These flaky and filamentous particles are referred to as reef snow.   Tropic Marin® Reef Snow contains these natural marine biopolymers. Together with other feedstuffs, they form nutrient-rich flakes that resemble natural reef snow which are then passed on to the corals and other filter feeders. The concentration of a Tropic Marin® Reef Snow solution can be varied in order to adapt the size of the flakes to suit the filter feeders contained in the tank. Benefits natural source of nutrients for corals and other filter feeders increases the filterability of the particles for many corals and filter feeders improves nutrient utilisation lowers the nutrient content of the water variable flake size larger particles constitute healthy feed with a prebiotic effect for fish ideal for binding vitamins and other feed enrichments Ingredients algae, alga extract Application & Dosage Stir approx. 1.5 measuring spoons of Tropic Marin® Reef Snow into 100 ml of reverse osmosis water and allow it to soak for one to two hours, stirring occasionally. Next, stir in the feed or the plankton substitute and allow it to soak for another 30 minutes before dispersing it throughout the aquarium.   A prepared Tropic Marin® Reef Snow stock solution (without feed/plankton substitute) can be stored for two weeks at room temperature. The size of the Tropic Marin® Reef Snow particles formed can be altered by varying the dosage from 1 to 2 measuring spoons per 100 ml.

  • Amino-Organic 250 ml

    Tropic Marin Amino-Organic 250 ml

    In Stock

Important Coral Nutrients: Amino Acids and Nitrogen Compounds   Tropic Marin Amino-Organic provides important amino acid and nitrogen compounds to increase growth and coloration in corals.    Poor coral coloration is usually caused by a lack of easily-digestible nitrogen compounds in the aquarium. The addition of Amino-Organic provides such compounds necessary to stimulate the growth of soft and leather corals, disc anemones, and zoanthids.   As your corals grow, they will naturally absorb more phosphates from the water column. Thus, Tropic Marin Amino-Organic has the added benefit of biologically reducing phosphate levels in your reef aquarium, creating near-natural conditions that result in increased vitality and more intense coloring.   Features Contains important amino acids, minerals, and easily-digestible nitrogen compounds Helps to naturally balance nitrogen/phosphate ratio Stimulates coral growth Improves coral vitality and coloration Increases polyp opening Does NOT contain nitrates or phosphates Instructions: Add a maximum of 5 ml (0,17 fl. oz.) Tropic Marin Amino-Organic to 200 litres (52 gallons) of aquarium water daily.    Not appropriate for use when phosphate concentrations are below 0.03 mg/l, during the start-up phase of an aquarium, or in the presence of undesired dinoflagellates.

  • Plus-NP 200 ml

    Tropic Marin Plus-NP 200 ml

    In Stock

Nitrogen and Phosphorus Additive for Optimal Coral Growth and Coloration Highly concentrated phosphate and nitrogen solution to counteract nutrient limitations Designed specifically for reef aquariums that are very low in nutrients Suitable for an aquarium stocked with soft corals, LPS and SPS Easy-to-dose liquid solution Dose manually or with dosing pumps   While we often think of keeping nitrate and phosphate down as the goal, in many modern reef aquariums we can run into a deficiency of these key nutrients. Due to the effectiveness of mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration, it's easily possible to run an ultra-low-nutrient system (ULNS).  Running nutrient levels chronically undetectable for a prolonged period of time can begin to impact coral growth and coloration, as well as encourage undesirable organisms such as dinoflagellates to take over.  In order to help our reef tanks thrive, dosing a quality nitrogen and phosphorus supplement may become necessary. Plus-NP provides the necessary compounds for bacteria, corals, and other inverts in a controlled dose that can be tailored to your reef aquarium's needs. A key difference between this product and many other sources of nitrate or phosphate is that the compounds in Plus-NP are bound by an organic energy source, so nitrogen and phosphorus can be utilized by corals more efficiently. This approach minimizes the loss of nutrients caused by denitrification and adsorption, prevents nutrient deficiency in the corals, and restores growth.   Instructions On first use, rotate the dispenser pump head counterclockwise until it pops out. Add 1 ml (1 pump-full) to every 100 l/26 US-gal. of aquarium system volume every day until the nutrient limitation in the corals has been rectified and the corals display a normal level of growth and coloration. Maximum dose: 1 ml per 100 l/26 US-gal. of aquarium system volume daily.

Energy-rich granulate for seawater fishes In nature, fish can select the tastiest and healthiest nutrition for themselves from a wide variety. Therefore, discerning seawater fish in the aquarium require high-quality feed which supplies a healthy balance of nutrients and vitamins. Tropic Marin O-Megavital is a granulate food made of high-quality Scandinavian wild fish and marine algae. Thanks to the particularly gentle production methods, vitamins, highly unsaturated fatty acids and the natural taste of the feed remain intact. The seaweed portion of Tropic Marin O-Megavital covers the fish’s iodine and trace element requirements and promotes natural intestinal flora. The fish remain energetic and show off all their beauty and colourfulness. The use of selected fish oils covers the fish’s energy requirements and reduces the burden of the metabolism and water contamination with ammonium and other breakdown products. The granulate remains stable for a long time and sinks – depending on the grain size – very slowly, meaning the fish at different depths also receive an ample supply. Particulate Nutrient Supply for New Reef Aquariums Use for the First 2-3 Months of Cycling Phase Stimulates the Microbiome Includes Trace Elements Like Iodide, Fluoride & Bromide   Tropic Marin Phos-Start contains natural marine biopolymers as bacterial food to stimulate the microbiome in the startup phase of the new marine aquarium. Phos-Start is particularly well suited for starting reef tanks using dry rock or for bare bottom tanks. These aquariums typically have a low supply of organic bacterial food and nutrients to stimulate bacterial and coralline algae growth. Phos-Start will fill the gap in nutrient and mineral supply and works to promote good coralline algae growth. It also prepares the aquarium to support and grow corals, including the most sensitive SPS. The microbiome is supplied with vital particulate phosphate as well as bacterial food, calcium, and trace elements as fine particles. The nutrients are dosed in a targeted manner, avoiding unwanted nutrient increases in the water column. Later, these particles can be easily filtered out of the water and/or utilized by the corals resulting in increased coral growth with natural forms in the skeletal structure and bright colors, just like in a thriving coral reef under natural conditions. After completion of the system cycling and first 2-3 months of the system’s operation, we recommend Tropic Marin Phos-Feed for targeted phosphate dosing.   Directions for Use: Use for the first 2-3 months during initial cycling phase and in the young aquarium. Tropic Marin Phos-Start can be added at any time of the day or night, but since the application clouds the water somewhat, it's ideal to dose Phos-Start around the time the lights on the aquarium are turned off. This also takes advantage of the nocturnal polyp opening of the corals. Half fill a container with approximately 200ml of water from the aquarium (Do NOT use reverse osmosis water) and add the calculated amount of Phos-Start. Mix powder and water well by stirring. Pour the mixture into a high flow area of the aquarium and rinse the cup with aquarium water.   Dosage: Start with a daily dosage of 1 ml (small measuring spoon) Tropic Marin Phos-Start per 100 US gallons of aquarium water. If after four weeks a phosphate concentration between 0.05 ppm and 0.15 ppm is not reached in the aquarium, double the dosage to 2 ml (larger measuring spoon) per 100 US gallons. We recommend not to exceed a maximum dosage of 4 ml per 100 US gallons.     Ingredients: Natural calcium carbonate microparticles, phosphate mineral powder, natural biopolymers, iodide, fluoride and bromide. Note: A temporary increase in algae growth is a normal part of a functioning startup phase in marine aquariums. This should not be a cause for concern. An initial temporary brownish discoloration of corals is an indication of the desired nutrient regulation in the aquarium and should also not be any cause for concern.

Targeted Coral Nutrient Supply Inspired by Natural Biological Principles For Stronger Growth & More Intense Colors Includes Trace Elements Like Iodide, Fluoride & Bromide   Phosphate is one of the nutrients with high consumption and often low availability in the reef aquarium. Phosphate is essential in numerous growth processes of the skeleton and tissue of the coral. In a natural coral reef environment, insoluble particulates supply corals with phosphate essential for metabolism and growth. These particles can be very easily filtered out of the water and utilized by the corals. Phos-Feed is modeled after this natural phosphate supply process. Insoluble particulate phosphates are the most effective way to deliver this essential nutrient to the corals. Now, for the first time in your reef aquarium, phosphate is dosed in a targeted manner, without continuously increased phosphate concentration of the water column. As a result, coral growth is stimulated and the corals show natural patterns of skeletal development and bright colors.   Directions for Use: Tropic Marin Phos-Feed can be added at any time of the day or night, but since the application clouds the water somewhat, it's ideal to dose Phos-Feed around the time the lights on the aquarium are turned off. This also takes advantage of the nocturnal polyp opening of the corals. Half fill a container with approximately 200ml of RO water and add the calculated amount of Phos-Feed. Stir well to mix the powder and water. Pour the mixture into a high flow area of the aquarium and rinse the cup with aquarium water.   Dosage: Start with a daily dosage of 1 ml (small measuring spoon) Tropic Marin Phos-Feed per 50 US gallons of aquarium water. If after four weeks a phosphate concentration between 0.05 ppm and 0.15 ppm is not reached in the aquarium, double the dosage to 2 ml (larger measuring spoon) per 50 US gallons. We recommend not to exceed a maximum dosage of 4 ml per 50 US gallons.     Ingredients: Phosphate Mineral Powder, Trace Elements (iodide, fluoride, and bromide); Inactive ingredient: Pro-Reef Sea Salt
