Zooton is a plankton substitute with a small food particle size and is therefore perfect for stony corals with small polyps. The ingredients spirulina and brewer's yeast provide your corals with important B vitamins and carotenoids. Do corals need food? Not directly. Thanks to the many single-celled algae (= zooxanthellae) that are embedded in the coral tissue, corals can feed indirectly from light. The symbiotic algae release various sugars to the coral that they produce during photosynthesis. The algae, in turn, need nutrients to maintain their metabolism. They can get these from the excretions of the reef fish in your aquarium, for example. It is therefore not possible to survive without nutrients. Why feeding corals in the aquarium is important To ensure that your corals look beautifully colorful, stay healthy and, above all, grow, you should feed them. Regular feeding means that fewer symbiotic algae are deposited in the tissue. This makes the coral appear more colorful because the color pigments are more visible. It has also been proven that corals that are fed additionally are less susceptible to bleaching or other diseases. They also have more energy available for growth. Application and dosage of Zooton Add one measuring spoon (found in the can) to 200 - 500 liters of aquarium water twice a day. To do this, soak the amount in a cup of aquarium water shortly beforehand and then distribute it in the aquarium. Tropic Marin Zooton – what’s in it? Composition: Shrimp and shrimp by-products, algae, brewer’s yeast and spirulina Additives: Cellulose 10%, Betaine 25 g/kg, Thiamine 10 g/kg, Vitamin B12 100 mg/kg

Original Balling Set 3x1 Kg to increase calcium and carbonate concentrations. Since Hans-Werner Balling, product developer at Tropic Marin® for over 12 years, published his results in 1994 for improved calcium and carbonate supply in reef aquariums with stony corals, shell-forming mussels, red calcareous algae and other organisms with high calcium content and carbonate requirements, the Balling method firmly established as a procedure. With the BIO-CALCIUM line, which has been very successful for many years, Tropic Marin® was the first to offer an innovative implementation of the balling method in effective and safe products to increase calcium and carbonate concentrations. Now the range has been expanded with the BIO-CALCIUM ORIGINAL BALLING salts. The three components of the balling method are now available individually in 1 kg packs and as a starter pack in a set, giving aquarists the option of individually adapting calcium and carbonates to the aquarium and dosing independently of each other. The ion balance in the water can only be maintained by supplying all three components and thus creates the best conditions for good growth of corals and red lime algae. Consists of: 1 kg of calcium chloride dihydrate 1 kg of sodium bicarbonate 1 kg sodium chloride-free sea salt

Biodegradable Filter Media for the Effective Removal of Nitrates and Phosphates Made of Natural Biopolymers Suitable for Fluidized Bed Filter or Pellet Reactors Helps Corals Show Their Brightest and Most Vibrant Colors Ideal for Reef Tanks or Fish Only Systems Tropic Marin NP-Bacto Pellets is an easy-to-use organic filter media for pellet reactors for the effective and biological removal of nitrate and phosphate. The pellets are made from a mixture of natural biopolymers, which promote the colonization and growth of nitrate and phosphate removing bacteria as well as other microorganisms. The bacterial colonization starts very quickly and then occurs on an on-going basis. Nitrogen and phosphorus are required for the growth of useful microorganisms. They reduce the nitrate und phosphate levels in the aquarium by extracting these elements from the aquarium water. Valuable, nutrient rich, biomass is produced from this process and is flushed from the pellet reactor into the aquarium where it serves as an important basic food resource for corals and other filter feeders, or is skimmed out of the water. Instructions The NP-Bacto Pellets are for use in a pellet reactor or fluidized reactor. Pour boiling hot water over the pellets and let soak for 2 hours before use to expel excess air. Start with 50 ml NP-Bacto Pellets for every 100 liters (26 gallons) of aquarium system water and fill the filter media in the reactor chamber. Consider the operating instructions of the reactor. Double the amount after four weeks if necessary but DO NOT EXCEED 200 ml of NP-Bacto Pellets per 100 liters of aquarium system water. For the removal of nutrients and gas exchange, a protein skimmer is recommended. As a result of the degeneration of the organic filter medium by the microorganisms, it is recommended to top up the NP-Bacto Pellets every month to replace any degraded material.

Potassium is an essential macronutrient for all living organisms and occurs in natural seawater at a concentration of 408 mg/l. Adjusting the potassium concentration to the natural level with Tropic Marin® Potassium in case of a potassium deficiency can sometimes give a vitality boost to various corals. Before using Tropic Marin® Potassium, carefully determine the potassium concentration with a water test (e.g. Tropic Marin® K+ Test Pro). Advantages: Provides potassium in the aquarium Essential macronutrient for plants and corals Improves coral coloration and vitality Tropic Marin® Potassium contains 100 mg/ml potassium. A dosage of 10 ml Tropic Marin® Potassium per 100 litres of water increases the potassium concentration in the water by 10 mg/l. A daily dosage of 20 ml potassium per 100 litres of water should not be exceeded. Individual coral species can react to low potassium concentrations in aquarium water with stunted growth and weak coloration. Potassium is present in seawater in a concentration of approximately 408 mg/l. The potassium concentration should never be increased above the natural concentration – too high potassium concentrations are dangerous for sensitive animals. Therefore, before using Tropic Marin® Potassium, carefully determine the potassium concentration with our Tropic Marin® K+ Test Professional.

Of all the trace elements found in natural sea water, iodine is associated with the widest range of effects. Iodine prevents goitre as an important component of the thyroid hormone. It also is essential for the hardening of the chitinous shell of crustaceans. Coallinaceous red algae deposit iodine in surface structures and gorgoniias deposit it in the axial skeleton. Experiments clearly show that Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Iodine improves the adaptation to light and the colouring of anthozoa, especially of hard corals. Due to its unstable nature in solution, iodine should be added to marine aquarium on a regular basis. Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Iodine contains iodine in its most effective form, as elementary I². Tropic Marin PRO-REEF Sea Salt 25kg Features: The pharmaceutical grade sea salt especially for modern reef aquaria. Tropic Marin® PRO-REEF Sea Salt has been designed to meet the special requirements of reef aquariums with optimized concentrations of calcium and magnesium, which promote the growth of corals. The lower buffering and the correct pH value serve to stabilize the natural water values, and particularly, the hardness of carbonates, even with the use of calcium reactors. Natural and stable conditions for delicate marine life are achieved only by accurately balancing all influencing factors. Tropic Marin® PRO-REEF is thus the ideal foundation for the care and growth of fish, corals and other aquatic invertebrates in modern reef aquariums. Use seawater prepared with Tropic Marin® PRO-REEF for regular water changes in your seawater aquarium, to start a new aquarium and to re-equilibrate the pH of a tank. Benefits: • Optimizes calcium- and magnesium concentrations as well as alkalinity and pH. • Designed to meet the special requirements of modern reef aquaria with higher calcium requirements. • Especially designed for use with calcium reactors or mineral additives. • To maintain the alkalinity in a 7-8° dKH range. • Manufactured from pure, pharmaceutical grade salts. • Contains all major- and minor elements in the exact proportions found in tropical sea water. • The 70 trace elements are completely soluble due to the use of the mixed-crystal method. • Compliance with the most stringent quality control measures for the production of pharmaceuticals ensures nature-identical seawater. • Free from nitrates, phosphates and other unwanted chemicals. How to use: To achieve a salinity level of 32-35 ‰ (psu), dissolve 35 ml of Tropic Marin® PRO-REEF per liter or approximately ½ cup of Tropic Marin® PRO-REEF per US gallon water. Dissolve almost all of the salt in a clean container already filled with the full volume of RO/DI water at a temperature of 73-77°F / 23-25°C while circulating/stirring the water. Do not concentrate the mixture by adding the full amount of salt to a smaller amount of water. Note: Always add the salt to the water, never the water to the salt. Making a concentrated mixture will cause a calcium carbonate precipitate to form. When you have added ALMOST all of the salt and the mixture is fully dissolved and clear, start measuring the specific gravity with a hydrometer or similar instrument. Keep adding small amounts of salt until the specific gravity is the value you desire. The specific gravity of the sea salt solution should range from 1.025 to 1.027 (at 73-77°F / 23-25°C) and the pH-value should be in the range of 8.0 – 8.4. If all parameters are correct, the salt water is ready to use. After setting up a new aquarium it takes a few weeks of water being circulated and correct lighting conditions to achieve the biologically stable environment required for the care and breeding of delicate marine organisms. A weekly, partial water change, replacing 10 % of the total water volume with Tropic Marin® PRO-REEF, will help to maintain the water quality that your livestock needs for good health. Parameters: approx. 7° KH, calcium approx. 440 ppm, magnesium approx. 1350 ppm Application: For reef tanks with higher calcium requirements. To maintain the alkalinity in a 7-8° dKH range; particularly suitable when using a calcium reactor. Use the new dosing calculator for an easy determination of the required amount of salt for your aquarium.

Don't let excess phosphate ruin your tank with nuisance algae and poor coral health. Elimi-Phos Rapid is a Lanthanum-based treatment for extremely rapid and highly-effective phosphate reduction. Particularly during new aquarium "break-in" and during rock curing and cycling, phosphate can often rapidly accumulate in the water. During this time Lanthanum chloride products are ideal for rapidly precipitating phosphate from the water column to prevent future issues in a maturing aquarium. In some cases in an established aquarium, an accumulation of phosphates from various sources may benefit from rapid but controlled phosphate reduction in order to restore recommended levels. Excessive phosphates in the water can lead to strong algae growth and a reduction in the growth of corals. This is why it is important to monitor the phosphate concentration in an aquarium regularly and maintain the level in the optimum range. We recommend a general range of phosphate from 0.02 ppm to 0.15 ppm and in reef aquariums from 0.02 ppm to 0.1 ppm. Elimi-Phos Rapid is a highly-effective solution based on Lanthanum which binds phosphates rapidly and eliminates them from the water. Phosphate can be lowered quickly to a range between 0.2 – 0.4 mg/l (ppm). Lanthanum-based phosphate removers are also convenient because they can be dosed by hand or with the use of a dosing pump in very precise amounts for specific targeted reductions. Key Benefits Extremely rapid removal of high phosphates Highly-effective Lanthanum based solution Phosphate concentration can be lowered quickly to a range between 0.2 – 0.4 mg/l (ppm) Directions for Use 500 ml of Elimi-Phos Rapid will bind up to 5 grams of phosphates, i.e. 10 mL per 26 gallons will reduce phosphate concentrations by up to 1 ppm. Phosphate reduction treatment is most effective with a skimmer or fine mechanical filter which will remove the precipitated phosphate from the system. A dropwise addition directly before filtration using a dosing pump is optimal. Measure the phosphate concentration in your aquarium and then calculate the required amount of Elimi-Phos Rapid. We recommend reducing the phosphate concentration by no more than 0.1 ppm per day. This equates to a maximum of 1 ml per 26 gallons of system water volume. Note: All organisms require traces of phosphate. 0.00 ppm phosphate is not recommended. The optimum range for a reef tank is .02 ppm to .1 ppm. Caution: 1. Some tangs and potentially other fish may be sensitive to Lanthanum treatments. Excercise caution and do not dose to the display. In tanks where this may be a concern, we recommend starting at a very low dosage followed by careful observation. Should you observe any signs of stress in individual organisms, you should stop the treatment for 1 – 2 days or until the symptoms have disappeared and then continue at a half dose.2. Keep an eye on the carbonate hardness as occasionally it can drop slightly.

Product description The high level of biological activity prevalent in intact coral reefs means that high concentrations of biopolymer substances can be found there. Contact with nutrient particles and colonisation with specific bacteria lead to the formation of particles that have a heightened level of nutritional value and are even visible to the naked eye. These flaky and filamentous particles are referred to as reef snow. Tropic Marin® Reef Snow contains these natural marine biopolymers. Together with other feedstuffs, they form nutrient-rich flakes that resemble natural reef snow which are then passed on to the corals and other filter feeders. The concentration of a Tropic Marin® Reef Snow solution can be varied in order to adapt the size of the flakes to suit the filter feeders contained in the tank. Benefits natural source of nutrients for corals and other filter feeders increases the filterability of the particles for many corals and filter feeders improves nutrient utilisation lowers the nutrient content of the water variable flake size larger particles constitute healthy feed with a prebiotic effect for fish ideal for binding vitamins and other feed enrichments Ingredients algae, alga extract Application & Dosage Stir approx. 1.5 measuring spoons of Tropic Marin® Reef Snow into 100 ml of reverse osmosis water and allow it to soak for one to two hours, stirring occasionally. Important Coral Nutrients: Amino Acids and Nitrogen Compounds Tropic Marin Amino-Organic provides important amino acid and nitrogen compounds to increase growth and coloration in corals. Poor coral coloration is usually caused by a lack of easily-digestible nitrogen compounds in the aquarium. The addition of Amino-Organic provides such compounds necessary to stimulate the growth of soft and leather corals, disc anemones, and zoanthids. As your corals grow, they will naturally absorb more phosphates from the water column. Thus, Tropic Marin Amino-Organic has the added benefit of biologically reducing phosphate levels in your reef aquarium, creating near-natural conditions that result in increased vitality and more intense coloring. Features Contains important amino acids, minerals, and easily-digestible nitrogen compounds Helps to naturally balance nitrogen/phosphate ratio Stimulates coral growth Improves coral vitality and coloration Increases polyp opening Does NOT contain nitrates or phosphates Instructions: Add a maximum of 5 ml (0,17 fl. oz.) Tropic Marin Amino-Organic to 200 litres (52 gallons) of aquarium water daily. Not appropriate for use when phosphate concentrations are below 0.03 mg/l, during the start-up phase of an aquarium, or in the presence of undesired dinoflagellates.
