  • Plus-NP 200 ml

    Tropic Marin Plus-NP 200 ml

    In Stock

Nitrogen and Phosphorus Additive for Optimal Coral Growth and Coloration Highly concentrated phosphate and nitrogen solution to counteract nutrient limitations Designed specifically for reef aquariums that are very low in nutrients Suitable for an aquarium stocked with soft corals, LPS and SPS Easy-to-dose liquid solution Dose manually or with dosing pumps   While we often think of keeping nitrate and phosphate down as the goal, in many modern reef aquariums we can run into a deficiency of these key nutrients. Due to the effectiveness of mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration, it's easily possible to run an ultra-low-nutrient system (ULNS).  Running nutrient levels chronically undetectable for a prolonged period of time can begin to impact coral growth and coloration, as well as encourage undesirable organisms such as dinoflagellates to take over.  In order to help our reef tanks thrive, dosing a quality nitrogen and phosphorus supplement may become necessary. Plus-NP provides the necessary compounds for bacteria, corals, and other inverts in a controlled dose that can be tailored to your reef aquarium's needs. A key difference between this product and many other sources of nitrate or phosphate is that the compounds in Plus-NP are bound by an organic energy source, so nitrogen and phosphorus can be utilized by corals more efficiently. This approach minimizes the loss of nutrients caused by denitrification and adsorption, prevents nutrient deficiency in the corals, and restores growth.   Instructions On first use, rotate the dispenser pump head counterclockwise until it pops out. Add 1 ml (1 pump-full) to every 100 l/26 US-gal. of aquarium system volume every day until the nutrient limitation in the corals has been rectified and the corals display a normal level of growth and coloration. Maximum dose: 1 ml per 100 l/26 US-gal. of aquarium system volume daily.

  • Eheim - Eheim - Fish Feeding Station - Reefamorous Eheim - Eheim - Fish Feeding Station - Reefamorous

    Eheim Fish Feeding Station

    In Stock

The EHEIM Feeding Station serves your fish`s meals underwater, at a fixed location. When you feed your fish, the food usually floats on the water surface where it spreads and disperses but any food that is not found or eaten immediately, will disappear into the decorations, filter or into your overflow box where it will slowly decay and contaminate the water. The difference with the EHEIM Feeding Station is that the food delivery is controlled from the food chamber - underwater. The fish are already waiting and the food can’t drift very far – everything is eaten and the water will stay cleaner for longerAn additional benefit is that you can observe and monitor your fish at the feeding station.Benefits The food is delivered underwater, via the chamber, to the same location every time There is very little waste from food dispersal Everything is eaten. No decaying food residue in the decorations or filter Less contamination in the water due to the reduction of decaying matter (nitrate and phosphate) No oxygen consumption from bacterial decomposition of food residue Lower food costs All the fish gather in one place which is ideal for you to check for diseases, parasites, inflammation and also for observing feeding behavior Sophisticated Construction Consists of a food chamber and detachable platform The platform is designed as a base for the EHEIM autofeeder (35810000), EHEIM turtlefeeder (35810010) and the EHEIM TWINfeeder (3582000) Universal fitting for frames, glass stays, bars, etc. Clamps included. Generally speaking, mechanical filter media trap larger dirt particles. Biological filter media, on the other hand, provide the correct conditions for the colonisation of bacteria cultures: the purification bacteria feed off the dirt particles and convert them. Above all, in this way clear, healthy water and stabile water values are arrived at in the aquarium. Our latest development is a combination filter medium, which simultaneously carries out both mechanical and biological functions.EHEIM bioMECHMechanical-biological filter medium for combined water treatmentbioMECH has been cleverly designed: dirt-trapping pockets capture and retain large and small dirt particles. At the same time the subtely designed pore structure provides colonisation for the purification bacteria and thus ensures reliable biological decomposition. The material is pH-neutral and does not contain water hardeners.EHEIM bioMECH is washable and reusable many times over. e main task of biological filter media is to offer the best colonisation onditions for the bacteria cultures, so that after a short time a bacteria lawn develops. The bacteria feed on dirt particles of all kind and convert substances critical for the aquarium. After the first cleaning process by the mechanical filter media (e.g. EHEIM MECH or MECHpro) the biological filtration is the most important. It provides for clear, healthy water and stabile water values. That’s why we have invested a lot of research work into the development of biological filter media. Tip:Never clean or change all the filter media together in one operation (and never clean too rigorously). The bacteria cultures must not be completely destroyed, otherwise re-colonisation will be retarded. The filter baskets in the external filters and filter modules in the internal filters aquaball and biopower are ideal for partial cleaning.EHEIM SUBSTRATStandard bio-filter medium with large colonisation area for bacteria cultures and high efficiencySUBSTRAT can be layered in one or more layers. It is a highly porous filter material made from sintered glass. The surface structure offers the important purification bacteria excellent colonisation conditions. Depending on which type, chemical filter media control the pH-value and the water hardness (peat) – or reduce the phosphate level and inhibit the growth of algae (phosphateout). The pH-value of mains water lies between 7,3 and 7,8 and is therefore slightly alkaline. However, most ornamental fish require acidic water  – that is a pH-value under 7,0. EHEIM TORFpellets lower the pH-value and reduce the water hardness.Phosphates mainly occur due to organic pollutants in the aquarium water (fish remains, fish faeces etc.) and are responsible for the growth of algae. EHEIM phosphateout binds the phosphate and removes it from the water circulation.EHEIM phosphateoutChemically acting phosphate remover inhibiting the growth of algaeEHEIM phosphateout is a special iron compound for chemical filtration. The iron binds the phosphate, removing it  from the water circulation and thus reducing in stages the phosphate levels in the aquarium. In this way algae growth in the aquarium is inhibited. If the phosphate levels and consequently the growth of algae starts to increase, this means that the filter medium is depleted and must be replaced.EHEIM phosphateout is available for filters in granulate form. It is free from harmful substances and suitable for fresh and marine water.   Phosphate remover inhibits growth of algae Iron compound, free from harmful substances Suitable for fresh and marine water Use once (replace when the phosphate levels start to increase) available in granulate form EHEIM phosphateout for internal filters aquaball and biopowerFor the internal filters aquaball and biopower there are special foam cartridges available instead of granules. They are impregnated with the iron compound which binds the phosphates. If the phosphate levels in the water start to increase, this means that the cartridge is depleted and must be replaced.
